Former photographer pleads guilty to sex offences

A former photographer from Lurgan has pleaded guilty to sex offences dating back more than 50 years ago.

James McGuinness, aged 76, from River Glade Manor pleaded guilty to six charges of indecent assault.

Appearing at Craigavon Crown Court last Friday McGuinness entered the dock on crutches and pleaded guilty to each of the charges.

The first charge was that he indecently assaulted a woman on a date unknown between April 30, 1962 and June 10 1965.

The other five charges were separate offences that on dates unknown between April 30 1962 and June 10 1965 he indecently assaulted the same woman.

A barrister said there would be pre-sentence reports and medical reports.

Judge Patrick Lynch adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports. McGuinness is set to appear at the Crown Court again on September 28.
