Cigarettes were stolen during the burglary at Dewarts Filling Station in Waringstown shortly before 4am.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “It is believed a member of the public has walked past a vehicle that was involved in this incident shortly before it occurred in the Cambrai Heights area of Waringstown.

“Was this person you or do you know any other information surrounding this.

“If so please contact Police by either telephoning 101 quoting reference 134 07/01/2019 or you contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Ulster Unionist MLA Doug Beattie MC said: “This incident was not just an attack on the petrol station on Main Street Waringstown but also an attack on a whole community who use this facility.

“During the burglary a quantity of cigarettes was stolen and although this might sound trivial to some. However it does raise genuine concerns that there are some within the local area or further afield who feel they can just steal at their own leisure.

“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information to contact the PSNI by calling 101 quoting reference 134 07/01/2019.”
