Parents in Lurgan’s Mourneview estate have been asked for help by the PSNI following reports of youths breaking into Glenavon Football Club’s stadium.

Police were called to Mourneview Park last night (Thursday night) following reports of youths gaining access to the stadium and letting off fire extinguishers.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Not only is this trespass and criminal damage but the way they have accessed the stadium is dangerous.

“Replacing the fire extinguishers will also cost money and, with no fans allowed in to watch the games ,the club at present could be doing without the additional bill.

“If you are not sure where your child is or has been, please have a responsible conversation with them for their own safety if nothing else.

“We will be keeping an eye on the place and would prefer not to force this conversation on you along with a bill of replacing fire extinguishers.

“If you live in the area and see anybody climbing fences to get into the ground please give us a call on 101.”
