The funeral will take place today (Friday) of Portadown man and former Irish League referee Malcolm Wright.
Mr Wright, who was in his early 80s, died after an illness.
He was a highly respected match official in the 1960s and 1970s who refereed five Irish Cup finals and officiated at many international and European games over a decade.
After retiring from refereeing Mr Wright worked for the Irish FA as a senior referees’ assessor and his advice to up-and-coming match officials was always sound and encouraging.
Mr Wright, who lived in the Mahon Road area, is survived by his wife Josephine and daughters Janet and Delma.
He will be buried in Kernan Cemetery at 2pm after a funeral service in Lurgan Salvation Army Citadel.
