On account of his repeated drug offending a case against a 22-year-old man was adjourned last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
Malcolm McKeown, Parkmore, Craigavon, admitted unlawful possession of a class B drug on January 23 this year.
The court heard that at 10.20pm police stopped and searched a car in Portadown and McKeown produced cannabis resin from his tracksuit pocket.
He made a full admission and said he had paid £20 for the drug.
Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said there was relevant previous offending.
Deputy District Judge Sean O’Hare said that once a year, every year, McKeown had been convicted of possession of a class B drug.
He added that it was clear fines had not worked and the defendant should realise the precariousness of his situation if he continued with flagrant offending.
He adjourned sentencing until April 20 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
