Denies resisting police officers

A 36-year-old Portadown man has denied resisting police and damaging a cell at a police station.

Martin Gerard O’Neill, Churchill Park, Portadown, appeared last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

The charges against him allege that on November 9 this year he resisted a police constable and he damaged a cell at Banbridge belonging to the PSNI.

A barrister representing O’Neill said he would be pleading not guilty.

The case was adjourned until December 21 to fix a date for a contested hearing.
