After a completely sold-out run and rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014, the amazing Des Bishop is bringing his critically acclaimed show, ‘Coming Home’ to Armagh.
In February 2013, American-born, Irish-bred Des Bishop went to China to try and learn enough Chinese to do stand-up comedy in Mandarin, to a Chinese audience.
If that wasn’t challenge enough, now he wants to make the world laugh about his experiences.
From trying to find a girlfriend at a Beijing marriage market, to working as a waiter in a Heilongjiang restaurant, and a bit of stand-up in Mandarin along the way. ‘Coming Home’ is a fun journey through a country we all feel we need to know better. If China is poised to take over the world, we’d better learn to make them laugh.
Des Bishop will perform at The Market Place Theatre in Armagh on Thursday, August 27, at 8pm. Tickets are priced £18.50 each. Please note this show is recommended for age 18+ as it may contain material that some people could find offensive.
