Derrytrasna dance group, Diamond Rio, recently ventured to Blackpool for the World Dance Masters 2015.
The competition ran from August 14 to 17, and every single one of the Derrytrasna dancers returned home with a prize - with three members winning world champion titles.
Jessica Henry was named World Champion in the Intermediate open, while Deirdre Campbell and Maureen Davitt became World Champions in the Partner Gems category. Meanwhile, Paula McStay was named World Champion Novice Gems Proam with James McLaughlin.
The dancers battled it out at an incredibly high standard, with Paula and Jane McStay winning second prize in the Partners Open, with Erin Breen and Sarah Lennon placed fourth in the same category and sixth in the Teenage Duos.
In the Proam Novice category, Maureen Davitt came second and Deirdre Campbell, fourth. Jane McStay was placed fourth in the Proam Intermediate, and in the Solo Primary, Ciara Lennon came seventh. Paula McStay came second, Maureen Davitt third, and Deirdre Campbell fourth in the Novice category.
