When police went into a house in Craigavon they found that a magnet had been attached to the electricity meter.
Christina Carlisle (31), Enniskeen, Craigavon, admitted, last Thursday at the local court, dishonestly using electricity and damaging a meter between January 31 and July 30 last year.
For each offence she was given a conditional discharge for three years.
The court heard that police entered the defendant’s house and found a magnet attached to the electricity meter. The amount of money involved was £89.51.
Carlisle said she paid for her electric by top up card and denied any knowledge of the magnet on the meter.
The damage was that because of the magnet the meter had to be replaced.
