Driver had a lapse of concentration

A Moira man was fined £120 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention on May 28.

Jonathan Allely, Demesne Grove, Moira, also received three points and was ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that the offence happened at the junction of the Millennium Way and the Malcolm Road in Lurgan.

A solicitor for the defendant said that it was a momentary lapse of concentration.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said Allely had accepted responsibility straightaway to the other driver involved in the accident.
