Driver shouted and waved arms in car

After shouting at pedestrians and waving his arms in the air while driving a 29 year old man was stopped by police who found that he was over the drink drive limit.

Daniel O’Toole, Riverglade Court, Craigavon, was fined £150 and banned for 16 months last Friday at the local court for driving with excess alcohol on December 28 last year.

He was also fined £90 for driving without due care and attention, £75 for not having a vehicle test certificate, £60 for a defective tail light and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

On completion of a course for drink driving the ban would be reduced by four months.

The court heard that at 1.20am in William Street O’Toole was driving down the street. He had his head out of the window and was shouting at pedestrians and waving his arms up and down.

Police stopped him and an evidential breath test gave a reading of 93.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said his client accepted he should not have behaved in
this manner.

They were jovial taunts he was having with other people, added Mr Downey.
