A Lurgan man was banned from driving for 12 months on Friday, December 19, at Craigavon Magistrates Court for an excess alcohol offence.
Patrick Stewart (26), whose address was given as Woodville Grove, Lurgan, was also fined £200 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
On completion of a course for drink driving his ban would be reduced to nine months.
The court heard that on November 23 a police mobile patrol on the Lough Road, Lurgan, saw a car going slowly and breaking the white line.
They stopped it and spoke to the driver who was the defendant.
His breath smelled of alcohol and an evidential test gave a reading of 62.
Mr Paddy Moriarty, representing the defendant, said Stewart had been at a club function and had travelled by bus from the club.
He added that the bus was supposed to drop people off but instead they were left back where they were picked up.
Stewart took the decision to drive home and he was almost home when he was stopped by police, said Mr Moriarty.
