Warinsgtown’s Emma Irvine has been crowned ‘Miss Antrim’ as the second of 13 local heats of the Open+Direct Miss Northern Ireland contest came to Spice, Antrim.
Girls from across the country competed for their place at the Miss Northern Ireland final in front of an astute judging panel which included model agent Alison Clarke, and Open+Direct area manager Ken Leitch.
While Emma Irvinetook the “Miss Antrim crown, Aislinn O’Connor from Templepatrick was chosen as “Miss Spice Antrim.” Both girls will now go forward to the grand final in Belfast’s Europa Hotel in May and stand a chance of winning the coveted title of ‘Open+Direct Miss Northern Ireland 2014.’
Competition organiser Alison said, “It was great to be back at Spice Antrim again this year. Antrim never disappoints with the calibre of girls who enter, once again it was a fabulous night and a huge congratulations to the winning girls and a big thank you to all who came along!”
Ken said, “Well done to Aislinn and Emma, they really were worthy winners on the night, their combination of poise, beauty and personality caught the judges’ eyes. Each Open + Direct judge at the heats will be looking for girls with the same combination of ambition, confidence and personality which make a true Miss Northern Ireland champion.”
Last year’s winner, Meagan Green added, “I have loved every minute since being crowned Miss Northern Ireland – it has been a whirlwind.”
