Improvement works at Drumnacanvey welcomed

Upper Bann MLA Jonathan Buckley has welcomed the announcement of a £107,000 resurfacing scheme on the Drumnacanvey Road, Portadown.

The scheme is due to commence on Monday, September 21.

The Upper Bann MLA said: “I am very pleased with the recent announcement from the Department of Infrastructure to resurface the Drumnacanvey Road, which will begin on Monday, September 21.”

He said: “The improvement work will extend a distance of 470 metres from its junction with Ballyhannon Road to its junction with Bleary Road.

“The improvement scheme includes resurfacing of the carriageway and upgrading of road drainage.

“I have lobbied extensively for this improvement and I hope that completion of the scheme will contribute to the betterment of road safety in the area.

“The scheme is targeted for completion by 16 October, 2020.”
