Firearm found in Waringstown

Police attended a report of a suspected firearm found close to a play park in Waringstown area on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 4.45pm, it was reported that a suspected firearm believed to be a shotgun was found in Churchill Place wrapped in a plastic bag. The firearm has been taken away for further forensic examinations.

Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact Detectives in Lurgan on the new non-emergency number 101.
