TWO legally held firearms were stolen in broad daylight from a pensioner’s home in Derrytrasna.
The break-in occurred on the Bannfoot Road last Wednesday afternoon (October 19).
SDLP councillor Declan McAlinden described the burglary as “worrying”.
“Although the owner of the house was out at the time, he has been very shaken up by this,” he said.
“The breaking in to of a pensioner’s home is totally unacceptable and causes a lot of distress to the victims.
“I would urge elderly people in the area to remain vigilant.”
