Haulier fined for offences

A Scarva HGV operator has been fined a total of £550 for a number of tachograph and roadworthiness offences.

The case against Donnelly Transport of Lisraw Road was heard at Armagh Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 15.

The company contested the matter but were found guilty. They were fined £250 for failing to download from a tachograph vehicle unit within the required 90 day timeframe; £100 for not having a valid roadworthiness certificate on their trailer and £200 for failing to make regular checks on drivers’ hours records.

The haulier’s vehicles were stopped and inspected by DVA enforcement officers on September 20 and 25 last year.
