A 30-year-old man who was making a nuisance of himself in Tesco in Lurgan was fined £100 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for disorderly behaviour on March 5.
Igors Zingers, Shaerf Drive, Lurgan, was also fined £120 for resisting police and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that at 7.20pm police were called to Tesco where the defendant was making a nuisance of himself.
He was heavily intoxicated and was shouting abuse. A family member arrived and police spoke to him.
Zingers was asked to leave the premises but continued to be disorderly. When arrested he struggled with police officers.
Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said that when Zingers was handcuffed he said okay and stopped struggling.
He explained that staff in Tesco had refused to sell the defendant any more alcohol. Zingers spent a night in police custody and was very complimentary about the treatment he received while in custody, added Mr Downey.
