Hid drugs between his buttocks, court told

James Samuel Gribben, Church View Villas, Gilford, admitted having a class B drug, Brephedrone, on June 15 last year with intent to supply.

He also pleaded guilty to dishonestly using a quantity of electricity and possession of two strips of Tramadol without a prescription on the same date.

For each offence he was sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for 18 months.

The court heard that police carried out a search of the defendant’s house and saw that a magnet had been placed on the electricity meter to slow it down.

He also had two strips of Tramadol and did not have a prescription for them.

Gribben claimed they belonged to another person who, when he saw the police, gave them to him. He was going to give them back to that person.

A barrister representing the defendant said it was a technical offence. His client had been passed the two strips of tablets which he hid intending to give them back to the other person.

He added that Gribben had made full admissions during interviews.

District Judge Amanda Brady said she had to take into account Gribben had two previous drugs convictions for possession on his record.
