NIE will invest in the replacement and upgrading of some of their equipment in the Lough Road and Victoria St areas of Lurgan.

The move has been welcomed by Sinn Féin Councillor Catherine Seeley: “My party colleague Cllr Fergal Lennon and I, have been in contact with NIE on numerous occasions in relation to the deterioration of equipment; including several of the metal electrical poles along the Lough Road and Victoria Street areas of the town.”

The Deputy Mayor continued: “I welcome the confirmation that NIE will be carrying out essential maintenance before these poles become a serious safety hazard. I note that all affected residents will be notified through the post, regarding times and dates for the work to start.”

Cllr Seeley concluded: “It is important that NIE continue to maintain and monitor their equipment, both in terms of ensuring supply to customers and ensuring safety for the general public. I look forward to the work being completed.”
