Justine: Police appeal for car drivers to come forward

Police investigating a serious crash which left 17-year-old Justine McConville in a critical condition have issued an appeal for the drivers of certain vehicles to come forward.

Justine was badly injured in the incident on Lake Street on Friday evening.

She remains in a criticial condition in Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.

This afternoon the PSNI said: “Police in Lurgan, investigating a serious road traffic collision at Lake Street on the evening of Friday 29 July, have issued a further appeal for information.

Sergeant Mel Gibson said: “The collision involving a 17 year old female pedestrian and a red Citroen Saxo car occurred at around 9.40pm leaving the girl in a critical condition in hospital.

“I am now appealing to the drivers of the following vehicles to contact us with any information they may have.

“They are an Orange Toyota Aygo, a silver Volkswagen Golf or Polo, a dark coloured people carrier, a silver Peugeot and a green or blue Seat Ibiza.

“If you were the driver of any of these vehicles that were travelling in the area of Lake Street at the time of the collision I would ask to you to contact police in Lurgan on 101.”
