A local charity team is making a return to Uganda next month - bringing food and sports supplies to orphanages there.
Fundraising is currently underway for the trip by the ‘On the Ball’ team of Karol Gallagher and Fiona Mooney.
Donations will buy sports and food supplies for the teams and orphanages they support in Uganda.
On The Ball began in 2010 with several multi cultural soccer tournaments in Craigavon.
That success took organisor Karol Gallagher to visit Uganda where he witnessed the need to support the youth who have been affected by war, poverty and lack of access to sport and education.
Karol said: “Between 2013-2016 On The Ball in Uganda supported thousands of young people to particpate in our tournaments giving them much needed football items and access to school education. This work is both rewarding and is needed to continue.
“Thanks to your past support we have been able to gift sports items such as football boots and footballs.”
“Everyone who who donates we will send you pictures and post thanking you for your support.”
During December’s trip the On the Ball team will be arranging community football activities, visiting orphanages and gifting football boots and jerseys and much needed items such assugar and food items.
