A special dinner event is to be held by Cumman Seanchais Ard Mhacha to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Cardinal Tomás Ó Fiaich.

Patrons of the Cardinal O’Fiaich Library and Archive and the Armagh Diocesan Historical Society are reminded of the event which is on Sunday, October 18.

The next lecture in the series, again at the Ó Fiaich Library in Armagh, is on Wednesday 4th November at 8pm when Dr Ciaran Ó Sceá discusses the subject, ‘I am more Spanish than Irish...’: Origin and Belonging among ‘naturalised’ Irish Immigrants in early modern Spain.

The last lecture on the life of St Malachy was hailed a tremendous success.

Professor Pádraig Ó Riain captivated his attentive audience with a detailed exploration of the life of St Malachy of Armagh and his influential role in relation to other saints abroad who were either Irish or perceived to be such.
