Local band launch album

LOCAL metal band Waylander are back with their latest album which has received rave reviews from music critics.

The five-piece, whose members hail from Lurgan, Craigavon, Portadown and Lisburn, will be launching ‘Kindred Spirits’ at the Premier Bar in Lurgan on Saturday, August 18.

Bands Katabolisis from Portadown and Lucid Nightmare from Armagh will be joining Waylander who will be performing a 90-minute set.

The pagan-folk metal band recorded their new album at the Stone Circle Studio in Lurgan and ‘Kindred Spirits’ was released via French record label, Listenable Records, in Europe last week. The album will receive its North American debut on August 14.

Formed in 1993 Waylander have gained a respected position in the international metal scene, having toured Europe and played many prestigious festivals over the years. Kindred Spirits is the band’s 4th full-length album and was hailed as a “masterpiece of Celtic goodness” by Metal Guide magazine and “inspirational and stunning” by Metal Hammer.

The Premier Bar gig will give Waylander fans the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the band. The event is strictly limited to 130 tickets so buying early is advised.
