“This is a life or death issue. It is one that I have been championing and working on for some time. The intended purpose is to increase the number of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) devices available in community settings.

Almost 300 AED devices will be distributed amongst sports clubs. Clubs are welcome to apply. Even if your club/organisation already possesses a defibrillator, you may be eligible to receive a new AED through this initiative.

Carla said welcomed the move. “We are all to aware of the way in which an AED can save the life of someone who has suffered a heart attack.

“These are invaluable and I believe should be located in sports clubs, churches, schools, and community halls.

“I am pleased to say that ABC council has made strides in terms of the number of these within their facilities.”
