Fears over safety along the Moy Road in Portadown were ‘realised’ on Tuesday night following the death of a young woman on the road, the Lord Mayor has said.
Cllr Darryn Causby said: “I was deeply saddened to hear about Tuesday night’s fatality on the Moy Road, where a young woman tragically lost her life.
“The Moy Road is a very busy rural road with lots of twists and turns. Residents have for some time been concerned about road safety and unfortunately in this instance their fears have been realised.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time”.
A woman in her 30s was struck by a car around 9.45pm on RTuesday,
She is believed to be Latvian but this has not yet been confirmed by police.
