Loughshore area offers a host of activities for everyone

BOOKINGS are now being taken for appointments with the Citizens Advice Centre, Warmer Homes and The Benefits Entitlement Unit for Wednesday, May 1 at the Loughshore Access Project Office, Kinnego.

The service offers free and confidential advice from experienced staff. Bookings can be made by contacting Louise on 3831 7898.

Parents, carers and their babies and toddlers are invited to a get together on Tuesday, April 23, between 9.30am and 11am at Maghery Community Hall.

The morning is being organised by the Loughshore Access Project and will be a great opportunity for local children to meet and play together. Admission is free and the group will run regular depending on interest from local parents. Refreshments will also be served. Everyone welcome. The Derrytrasna Carer & Toddler Group is back on Thursday mornings between 9.30 and 11am at The Sarsfield centre following their Easter Break.

Light refreshments are served with toys and activities available for the children. Babies and toddlers are also welcome. For more information call 33831 7898.

Loughshore Access Project is to host a workshop for parents on cybersafety on Tuesday, April 16, between 7.30 and 8:30pm at LAP Office, Kinnego. The talk is designed to provide parents with useful tips and advice on how to keep their children safe online. A range of topics will be covered including social networking, cyberbullying, mobile technology, grooming, and privacy. All places are free. Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment and can be made by telephoning 3831 7898.

A performing arts project exclusively for older people, aged 60 years and over has opened. Acting Up is all about giving older people the opportunity to get out, get active and get involved in the performing arts and in their community.

It’s a chance for older people to make new friends, learn some new skills, have fun and take on some new challenges.
