Man banned from roads for six months

The imposition of six penalty points on a Portadown man last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court led to him receiving a six month driving ban.

Peter Arnel Bustos (46), Grantham Park, admitted driving without having insurance on November 20 last year. He was fined £250.

Six penalty points were imposed which brought the total on his licence up to 12 and on the tot up system he was banned for six months.

The court heard he was seen in the driver’s seat of a car in the Rushmere car park and it transpired there was no insurance policy in place.

Mr Brendan Hagan, representing the defendant, said his client had four unsuccessful attempts at passing the test. There had been insurance but it had expired in September.
