The Upper Bann MLA said: “Before the election some 60,000 people were removed from the electoral register by the Electoral Office. This included over 3,000 individuals in Upper Bann.

“Despite our hard work to get people back on the register there are still thousands of people effectively being denied their right to vote.

“The right to vote was hard won through the campaign and sacrifice of the Civil Rights Movement so I would once again urge people to get re-registered.

“Anyone who requires more information on how to register to vote should contact our local Sinn Féin office or the electoral office on 0800 432 0712 or online http://www.eoni.org.uk.”
