COMMUNITY Outreach Group will be holding a meeting next week.
On Thursday, April 18 at 8pm in St Peter’s Parish Centre there will be a presentation by Dr Brian Turner on local surnames.
Dr Turner is a former curator of Down County Museum and an enthusiastic member of Lecane Historical Society and has a particular interest in the origin and derivation of the family names which exist within the cultural diversity of our society.
There will be the opportunity to put your questions to the speaker, so do come along - there may even be a few surprises in store.
Admission to all our meetings is free. People from all cultural, religious and political backgrounds are welcome and light refreshments are served.
The meeting follows a presentation by Dr Katie Radford on the topic of ‘Segregation and Separation: Views and Experiences of Lurgan Youth’, which was held on Wednesday evening.
