The four winners of the Lurgan Park photography competition have been announced and presented with their framed winning photo by the Mayor of Craigavon Councillor Mark Baxter.
Over 200 entries were submitted to the competition, showcasing the Parks beautiful landscape, wildlife and visitors.
The winners, who were voted for by the public, were Brian McCready who captured a wonderful shot of a swan skimming Lurgan Park Lake, Joyce Simpson who’s picture showcased a beautiful MoorHen flying above the reeds on Lurgan Park Lake, Gregg Robertson who’s picture captured a beautiful red robin nestling among the trees and Jim McCann who’s stunning picture showcased Brownlow House from across the Lake.
Organised by Craigavon Borough Council, the winning entries will now be used in an upcoming Lurgan Park calendar for 2015.
Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Mark Baxter, comments: “We were delighted with the vast amount of entries which were submitted by amateur photographers from across the Borough. The standard was exceptional and the winning images are fantastic – well done!”
The Council has also launched a second Lurgan Park photography competition covering Winter/Spring. Once again, it is for amateur photographers only and there are three categories in the competition – Wildlife, Park Life (for example people having fun in the Park) and landscape with a maximum of 5 entries per person. Closing date for entries is 25th April 2014.
All photos should have the date the photo was taken on the back and include the name of the entrant, address and/or e-mail on the back. Photographs should be 8 x 6 size only.
