Bakers at Blissful Bites mark 20th anniversary

It’s two decades since Blissful Bites was set up by Praxis Care in Portadown - but not even the COVID-19 crisis could stop tenacious trainees.

Blissful Bites continued rolling out their hugely popular produce throughout the pandemic - much to the delight of their many dedicated customers.

Apple pies and tray bakes still remain a decided favourite.

The bakery which marks its 20th year of operation trains and employs adults with learning disabilities.

The pies and other baked goods including rocky roads, 15s and shortbread are made using apples from Davison’s Orchard, and dairy products and flour sourced locally.

The Praxis Care site has been in operation for 20 years.

Praxis Care is the island of Ireland’s largest charity provider of care for adults and children affected by mental ill health, learning disability, autism and dementia.

Praxis Care supports 1,500 individuals with mental ill health, autism, learning disabilities and dementia, providing innovative, professional, high quality support services to people across the spectrum of need and particularly at the higher level of complexity.

They are committed to helping those at risk of exclusion because of complexity of need.
