Police urge vigilance due to reports of suspect device

Police have urged the public to be vigilant following a number of reports of a suspect device being left in Lurgan.

However the PSNI has stated that despite the Lake Street area being searched with dogs, nothing untoward has been found.

It is understood calls were made to a number of outlets since Sunday claiming a device had been left in the area.

Chief Inspector Davy Beck said: “We have conducted a number of enquiries and have searched the area.

“Nothing untoward has been found however we would urge the public to be vigilant.

“If you notice anything which looks out of place or suspicious, do not approach or touch it but contact us straight away on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to these reports. We can be contacted in Lurgan on 101.”
