Sitting Lurgan Councillor and current Deputy Mayor Colin McCusker will be running with Queens Student and former Deputy Head Boy of Lurgan College, Aaron Carson from the Mourneview Estate. Commenting on the announcement, Colin McCusker said: “I am very excited to be running in these elections for the new supercouncil, and to be able to represent the people of Lurgan for another term. It is vital that people take the opportunity to vote, and a high turnout is necessary if we are to have a council that truly represents the area.

“This is traditionally an Ulster Unionist stronghold, and Aaron and I will be working hard to get a strong mandate. The feedback we are getting is very positive, and I am looking forward to the weeks ahead.

Aaron Carson added: “This is my first ever election. When I joined the party a few years ago, I never thought this opportunity would have presented itself so quickly.

“I am thrilled to be given the chance to represent my hometown, and in particular the area that I have grown up in, namely the Mourneview estate. Colin and I make a great team, and I am confident that we will both be returned as councillors to continue the hard work that Ulster Unionists have been doing for this area for years.”
