St John’s Church in Sloan Street is leading the way for ladies fitness during March with a series of four “Get Fit and Stay Fit for Life” evenings.
They’ll be held each Wednesday evening (4th, 11th, 18th and 25th) at 7.30pm. The evenings will comprise of a period of ability and age appropriate exercise, delivered by qualified instructors.
This will be followed by healthy refreshments and snacks and a short inspirational talk/epilogue.
The event is several in a series to mark Mission 15 in the Diocese of Down and Dromore. All ages and abilities are welcome as armchair aerobics is available for those who might be less mobile.
Later in March, (Sunday 22nd at 6.30pm) St Johns will host Glenavon Football Club to mark the club’s 125th anniversary year.
St John’s also now has a once a month “Cafe Church” (last Sunday evening of each month at 6.30pm) which is a relaxed form of worship around tables and tea and biscuits. All are welcome, but particularly those who haven’t been to church in a while and would like to find a way back to being part of community friendship and fellowship.
Other events for children and men will be taking place later in the year and more details on these will be published nearer the time.
