The William St car park, owned by Translink, has become a drinking den and a magnet for troublesome youths.

Lurgan Sinn Féin Councillor, Máire Cairns, has highlighted the issue of anti-social behaviour and littering in the William Street Park and Ride.

“Following complaints from residents and users of the car park, particularly parents of young children who must use the site as a drop off I visited the area and was shocked at the level of litter in the area, in particular smashed glass strewn across the area.

“I have been in contact with Translink as owners of the site and have asked that they increase the amount of weekly clean ups they carry out in the area,

“I am also exploring options with ABC council in order to keep this area tidy and ensure it can continue to be used by the community,” she said.

“I would urge anyone who uses this car park to be mindful of their fellow users and where possible to keep it clean, tidy and safe for all.”
