As police were making inquiries McConville came out of a house and began to use foul and abusive language towards his father and brother who were parked across the road.

He shouted ‘f—king b—ds’ towards his father and brother.

Police asked him to cease but McConville ignored them and was arrested.

Mr Pat Vernon, representing the defendant, who appeared in the dock, said his client was in custody on other matters.

He explained that just before the incident McConville had an argument with his brother and father and they were driving home.

He added that the defendant’s language was unacceptable but it was not directed at the police.

Mr Vernon said that McConville was someone who acted on impulse and does not think through the consequences of his actions.

He added that his client doesn’t think first and then act but does it the other way round.
