Armagh Sinn Fein councillor Garath Keating is being widely tipped as the next Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
And the predictions are that the Deputy Mayor will be DUP Banbridge councillor Paul Greenfield.
The election of the Lord Mayor and his/her deputy is set to take place at the annual general meeting at Craigavon Civic Centre on Monday evening.
Under the D’Hondt system, this year’s top posts must go to a Sinn Fein and DUP councillor respectively.
The current Mayor is DUP man Councillor Darryn Causby and his deputy is Sinn Fein’s Catherine Seeley.
Committee chairpersons and vice-chairpersons will also be elected and positions of responsibility allocated at Monday night’s meeting.
Mr Keating (34) was co-opted onto the Armagh legacy council in 2013 and elected to the new ABC Council two years ago.
He is party group leader in the council and works for the Sinn Fein constituency advice office in Armagh.
He formerly worked in the Assembly team as a political adviser to MLA Cathal Boylan.
A law graduate of Queen’s University Belfast, Mr Keating also has a Master’s degree in Public Policy and worked in a law firm for more than five years.
