Smashed window with stone

A 21-year-old man who smashed a window with a stone was fined £350 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for criminal damage.

David Braniff, whose address was given as Old Fort Lodge, Craigavon, was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on December 18 last year the defendant was throwing stones at the Moyraverty Centre and smashed a window.

When he saw police he made off but they pursued him and when caught he admitted breaking the window.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said his client had mental health issues and when he takes alcohol this had a knock on affect.

There was no excuse for his behaviour, added Mr Downey.
