Two men were seen on CCTV smoking cannabis from a makeshift ‘bong’ at the rear gates of the Rushmere centre, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Wednesday.
One of them was Andrew Graham (21), Kiln Lodge, Lurgan who was fined £100 for unlawful possession of a class B drug on May 17 this year.
He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.
The court heard that on May 20 police were told by a security guard that on May 17 at about 12.30pm he saw two males acting suspiciously at the rear gates of Rushmere.
They were seen on CCTV smoking something from a makeshift ‘bong’, a coke can.
When spoken to Graham admitted it may have been cannabis and that his co-accused had put it in the coke can.
The case had been adjourned from a previous court for a short sentence report from probation.
A barrister representing the defendant said he had a previous caution for a cannabis offence and was on a final warning from his employers.
