When police tried to stop a car which had been crossing the white line the driver swerved towards their vehicle.
Kenneth Patrick Fortune (35), Victoria Street, Lurgan, was banned from driving for 12 months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
He was also fined £350 for driving with excess alcohol on March 14 this year. As well Fortune was fined £150 and banned for 12 months for dangerous driving and fined £100 for disorderly behaviour.
A police mobile patrol on the Old Portadown Road, Lurgan, signalled the vehicle to stop and the driver swerved towards the police vehicle and police had to pull in front of it to get the car stop. When Fortune got out of the car he was verbally abusive, shouting and swearing at police. A breath sample gave a reading of 80.
A defence solicitor said Fortune been suffering from depression but accepted this was disgraceful behaviour.
