Craigavon Borough Council’s family favourite Tannaghmore Animal Farm and Gardens is in the running for this year’s Green Flag People’s Choice Award.

Tannaghmore has already received the Green Flag Award and this is the first time they have been in the running for the People’s Choice Award. All Green Flag Award winners are entered into the annual poll and people are now being urged to vote for their favourite which will gain national recognition.

The People’s Choice Award is an annual online vote that gives the public the power to decide which one of the 1,448 parks or green spaces flying the Green Flag should be named the site of the year. Tannaghmore is nominated along with Edenvilla in Portadown.

“It is a great achievement for both parks to have gained the Green Flag status. The People’s Choice Award is a tremendous accolade as it is awarded by the votes of those who use the parks regularly. I hope that everyone will show their support for Edenvilla and Tannaghmore Gardens and Animal Farm and vote for their favourite,” said vice-chair of Leisure Services Committee, Councillor Darryn Causby.

To vote for Edenvilla Park or Tannaghmore Gardens go to www.greenflagaward.org.uk, select Northern Ireland winners and on the interactive map click on one of the parks.
