Everyone is invited to meet at Portmore Lough nature reserve outside Aghalee for 6am on Saturday to listen to the birds welcome the new day in fine voice.
Expert guidance from warden Amy Burns will help you identify which birds you can hear during the dawn chorus – from tree sparrows to spotted flycatchers, song thrush to sedge warblers.
You’ll also be able to explore the nature reserve, which is home to all sorts of wonderful wildlife including Irish hares, and there will be craft activities on offer for children.
After such an early start, the event will finish around 9am with a delicious breakfast in the community room.
The event costs £10 per adult/£6 for RSPB members and £2 for children. A family ticket (two adults and three children) is £22 and all prices include a continental breakfast.
Booking is essential by calling 9049 1547 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit facebook.com/rspbni for more details.
