LIBRARIES across Northern Ireland will be holding a range of special Titanic-themed events for children to celebrate this summer’s Titanic Reading Challenge, including Storytimes, craft sessions and lots more!
The Titanic Reading Voyage has been devised by Libraries NI and children aged four and over are invited to call into any local library and sign up to this reading challenge during the holidays.
The reading challenge hopes to encourage more children to love reading and this year, mums, dads, grandparents or other adults are also invited to participate in the challenge with their children.
Over 110 free and fun Titanic events have been planned in Northern Ireland libraries and children are invited to come along to enjoy these – including the following events in local libraries:
In Lurgan Library on Thursday, August 2, 10.30am - 11am there will be a storytime for 4-8 year olds.
Later that day (2-3pm) a crafts session will be held for 4 - 11 year olds (booking required).
And on Thursday, August 9, from 10.30am -11am it’s Storytime for 4 - 8 year olds
On Thursday, August 16 Brownlow Library also hosts storytime for 4-8 year olds from 3-3.30pm.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome but to avoid disappointment, please contact the library in advance if places need to be booked!
