A tractor of great sentimental value stolen in Poyntzpass on Monday has been recovered by police, after they received a call from a member of the public.
The New Holland tractor, which had been reported stolen from an address on the Ballyreagh Road, was recovered in the Concession Road area of Crossmaglen shortly after 8pm.
According to MLA Danny Kennedy, the tractor had belonged to the family’s son, who died in tragic circumstances a number of years ago.
It has been taken away for forensic examination.
Police have thanked the public for their continued support. They said, “This is a great example of how information from the community enables us to focus our resources where and when they are needed most.
“Lifting the phone and making the call works. We will follow up any information provided by the community and can assure everyone of confidentiality when they make that call.”
