Two new stores are to open at Rushmere Shopping Centre within the coming weeks.

CEX, the technology specialist retailer, is to open a 1,892 sq ft store on the West Mall in the autumn.

It will be followed by Uberfone, a 1,034 sq ft store in the East Mall.

The announcement means that the shopping centre will be 100 per cent let.

CEX specialise in technology, computing and video games, and the Rushmere store brings the total number of CEX branches in Northern Ireland to 11.

Mobile phone accessory company Uberfone also offer a repair service for mobile phones and tablets in addition to products. The brand has five stores across Northern Ireland.

Martin Walsh, centre manager at Rushmere, said: “Trade has been very strong over recent weeks and with the new lettings filling our last few units we can look forward to overall performance increasing even further in the run-up to the festive season.”

Planning consent has recently been granted for the development of two new restaurants at Rushmere, creating almost 200 jobs. They are due for completion in 2016.

The latest signings follow recent openings by Skechers, Pandora, Danish fashion brand At The Studio, and a new boutique from Irish independent fashion retailer, Clockwork.
