A violin recovered from the Titanic has reached £900,000 in auction.

The violin had been curated by Lurgan restoration expert Sean Madden before being put on display in the Titanic building.

The sea-corroded instrument is thought to have belonged to bandmaster Wallace Hartley, who was among the disaster’s more than 1,500 victims.
