War hero passes away
One of the town’s last remaining war veterans Richard Keegan passed away on Tuesday morning.
He was a former member of the Royal Ulster Rifles seeing action during the D-Day landings at Normandy. After being refused permission to rejoin the front line due to his injuries Richard was determined to continue his service so he joined the Royal Corps of Signals where he concluded his service in 1946. Richard will be sadly missed by his family and members of the Royal British Legion.
