President Jennifer Taylor welcomed everyone to the September meeting of Waringstown WI and introduced the new committee.

A minute’s silence was observed in memory of Helen McElroy, a long standing member, who sadly passed away last month.

Congratulations were passed on to Faith Hollywood and husband Billy on reaching their 60th wedding anniversary and also to Martha Arlow and husband Beattie on their 50th anniversary.

Sandra Ledlie and Jean Sturgeon were complimented on the great work they had done in maintaining some flower beds in Waringstown.

Jean Sturgeon gave a floral demonstration and Jean Wright read some of Seamus Heaney’s poems.

Guest speaker was Heather Sanderson from ‘Truly Gifted’ in Magheralin and she had on display lots of ideas for that special gift.

Heather, with her assistant Louise, give a display of how to wrap presents to make them look that little bit more special and also give a reminder that it’s only 15 weeks until Christmas!

Birthday girls for the past three months were Eileen Beattie, Eleanor Kennedy and Peggy Steen.

Competition winner for prettiest pair of gloves was Sandra Ledlie.

The group is always on the lookout for new members. All are welcome.
