Located in the basement of Brownlow House, this brand new exhibition tells the story of American troops in Lurgan and the surrounding area during the Second World War.

Lord Mayor of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Darryn Causby, was extremely impressed by the exhibition.

“It’s a fabulous exhibition and I would urge anyone who has an interest in history to get down there and see it for themselves,” said the Lord Mayor.
“It really brings the war - the impact that the Americans had - to life. It unlocks some real treasures.”

While a lot of the American activity at Brownlow House remains a mystery to this day, many stories have been unveiled by the research team by following transatlantic leads of enquiry.

Brownlow HQ was officially opened by the new US Consul General Daniel Lawton, and is a permanent fixture with a variety of information panels, videos, artefacts, and interactive activities including dressing up for children.
